ChefAI is preparing for launch, and this policy may be updated as app features, vendors, subscriptions, and support processes are finalized.
Overview
ChefAI helps users save recipes from websites, social media links, screenshots, pasted text, YouTube content, and other sources, then organize those recipes into cookbooks, favorites, grocery lists, and nutrition summaries. To provide these features, ChefAI processes the information you choose to submit and the account information needed to operate the service.
Information You Provide
- Account information, such as your email address, sign-in details, display name, profile settings, and authentication metadata.
- Recipe content you save or create, including titles, descriptions, ingredients, directions, servings, prep and cook times, notes, tags, images, source URLs, creator names, and privacy settings.
- Import material you choose to provide, including screenshots, photos, social media links, website links, captions, pasted text, copied comments, YouTube links, transcript-like text, and manually entered recipe notes.
- Cookbooks, favorites, grocery lists, checked-off grocery items, meal planning notes, and other organization data.
- Onboarding answers, app preferences, support messages, feedback, and contact information you submit to us.
Information Collected Automatically
ChefAI may collect limited technical and usage information, such as device type, app version, operating system, authentication status, subscription entitlement status, feature interactions, import success or failure events, diagnostics, crash information, and basic analytics. This information helps us maintain reliability, understand app usage, improve onboarding, and troubleshoot support issues.
Supabase, Accounts, and Storage
ChefAI uses Supabase and related backend services for account authentication, database storage, file storage, and syncing app data. Recipe libraries, cookbooks, grocery lists, favorites, profile settings, and imported files may be stored in ChefAI-controlled backend tables or storage buckets so the app can save your information and make it available across sessions.
How ChefAI Uses Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To import, parse, save, edit, and display recipes.
- To organize saved recipes into cookbooks, favorites, grocery lists, and other app views.
- To estimate nutrition and macro information when that feature is requested or available.
- To process screenshots, links, pasted text, and social media content that you choose to submit.
- To provide customer support, troubleshoot errors, improve product quality, prevent abuse, and protect the service.
- To manage subscriptions, trials, entitlements, or paid features when offered through Apple.
AI Processing
ChefAI uses AI-assisted processing to turn recipe sources into structured recipe data. When you request an import or analysis, ChefAI may process relevant source text, links, screenshots, photos, captions, recipe images, and context through server-side services and AI providers. AI processing may be used for recipe parsing, ingredient extraction, direction formatting, grocery list generation, nutrition estimation, categorization, and similar app features.
Subscriptions and Payments
If ChefAI offers subscriptions, trials, or paid features through the App Store, payment processing, billing, refunds, cancellation controls, and Apple account payment details are handled by Apple. ChefAI may receive subscription status, entitlement, product identifier, renewal, and transaction-related information needed to unlock features and support your account. ChefAI does not receive your full Apple payment card details.
Sharing of Information
ChefAI may share information with service providers that help operate the app, such as authentication, database, storage, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, customer support, AI processing, and payment entitlement providers. ChefAI may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate abuse, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
Public and Private Recipe Features
ChefAI may support private and public recipe functionality. Recipes marked private are intended for your account or the audiences you choose. If you choose to publish, share, or make a recipe public, the recipe content and related metadata may be visible to others. Review recipes carefully before making them public or sharing them outside the app.
Retention
ChefAI keeps account and recipe information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, maintain backups, and support legitimate business operations. You may request deletion of account data or saved content through the contact information below. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited period.
Your Choices
- You can edit or delete saved recipes, cookbooks, favorites, and grocery list items in the app when those controls are available.
- You can choose what links, screenshots, photos, pasted text, and recipe content you submit for import.
- You can contact ChefAI to request access, correction, deletion, or export of personal information associated with your account.
- You can manage App Store subscriptions through your Apple account settings.
Security
ChefAI uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect account data and saved recipe information. No online service can guarantee absolute security, and you are responsible for keeping your device and account credentials secure.
Children
ChefAI is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and respond appropriately.
